On-loan Reece Oxford keen to fight for Borussia Monchengladbach chance

Reece Oxford has yet to make his Bundesliga debut for Borussia Monchengladbach.

Reece Oxford has said he wants to fight for his chance at Borussia Monchengladbach, for whom he has yet to make his Bundesliga debut since arriving on loan from West Ham.

Oxford, 19, joined on a season-long loan but has the option to return to London in the winter.

But speaking to Bild on Wednesday, the England under-20 international vowed to battle for an opportunity at Borussia Park.

"It's true that I have this option to return to West Ham early, but I am not looking at it, rather that I finally play for Borussia," he said.

"I am only focused on training and a possible appearance. I will work hard to get my chance here, and then I want to take it."

Gladbach have made a good start to the season, taking 14 points from their first eight games to sit fifth in the Bundesliga.

But while they have scored 12 goals they have also conceded 12, the sixth-worst record in the league.
