Opoku Nti admits Kotoko must improve continental form after local dominance
Asante Kotoko won league and cup double

Asante Kotoko chief Opoku Nti admits the team’s form in the CAF Champions League having thoroughly dominated the domestic scene in recent years.

The Premier League champions swept almost all the honours at this year’s MTN FA Cup awards ceremony held on Saturday at the State Banquet Hall.

The club clinched the Fair Play award while defender Abeiku Ainooson clinched double honours of the Best Defender and Best Player of the competition.

Mas-Ud Dramani was also named the Best Coach after leading the side to a league and cup double last season.

The Ghanaian giants have however been unable to translate their dominating home form in Africa in the past years.

They have failed to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Champions League in all three years they have been crowned Ghanaian champions.

And General Manager Opoku Nti admits his side’s continental form must improve starting from the coming season.

“We have won what there is on the field of play in Ghana but have not done well in Africa,” he told Metro FM.

“This must change. We have to improve in Africa and I believe that we will do well this time around.”
