Otuo Acheampong Barima Boadaa aims helping increase the revenue base of the Ghana FA with his election onto the Executive Committee.

Acheampong who remains one of the finest sports broadcasters in Ghana is one of eleven candidates vying for limited seats on the GFA’s Executive Committee as representatives of Division One.

The General Manager of Kumasi-based Sikka FM has played several behind-the-scenes roles for some of the leading football administrators in the country.

He now wants to make a ‘direct contribution’ to the development of the game by helping increase revenue generation especially for clubs in the second tier league.

“I believe there are avenues yet to be explored in revenue generation for the GFA,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“We need to explore these avenues and I believe I am well equipped to help explore these avenues especially for Division One clubs.

“We have not really explored to the fullest the opportunities in commercial, match day and broadcasting revenue at all levels of our football so it will be good for me to get involved and make such a contribution.”

Otuo Acheampong Sometymer conducted a research - ‘Exploring Supply Chain Management Concepts in Football Administration’ - in obtaining his Masters Degree earlier this year.

The findings from his study points to some strategies which could be used to boost revenue for not only the GFA but for individuals, industries while also boosting the country’s economic output.

And from his broadcasting background, Acheampong who is running on the ticket of Asokwa Deportivo very particular of the GFA’s continued enhancement of its media relations.

He has previously worked with Fox/Hot FM and is one of the people behind the annual commemoration of the May 9 disaster championed by former Asante Kotoko chairman Herbert Mensah.
