Performance of Ghanaian Players Abroad: Adiyiah, Boye & Assifuah score - Essien shines
John Boye scored for Sivasspor in Turkey

Black Stars duo of John Boye and Ebenezer Assifuah were on target for Sivasspor and FC Sion respectively while former AC Milan stars Dominic Adiyiah scored for the second week running in Thailand. 

Former Chelsea and Real Madrid star Michael Essien excelled in midfield for Panathinaikos as they won in Greece.

ENGLAND

Ghanaian-born Norwegian international Alexander Tettey was in full time action for Norwich City when they drew 1-1 with Everton. But his Ghanaian compatriot Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe who has committed his international career to Belgium was not in the Norwich squad for the game.

Ghana winger Andre Ayew played 83 minutes for Swansea City when they slipped to a 2-1 loss at Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

His brother Jordan Ayew played the full 90 minutes for Aston Villa when they succumbed to a 2-0 home loss against Arsenal at the Villa Park.

Injured Christian Atsu watched his Bournemouth side from the stands at the Vitality Stadium when they defeated Manchester United 2-1.

Joshua Onomah was unused by Tottenham Hotspur for their 2-1 home loss against Newcastle United.

English-born Ghanaian Bernard Mensah failed to made the grades at Watford when they won 1-0 at Sunderland.

In the Championship, winger Albert Adomah was replaced by Diego Fabbrini in the 87th minute when Birmingham City held his Middlesbrough side to a 0-0 draw.

Elvis Manu continued his bench warming exercise at Brighton as he sat on the bench for the entire period of the Seagulls' 2-2 draw at Derby County. Midfielder Kwame Thomas failed to make the Derby team for the game.

In the League One, Leicester City loanee Joe Dodoo played 57 minutes for Bury when they won 1-0 against Chesterfield.

Injured Enoch Andoh watched his Port Vale side draw 1-1 with Scunthorpe.

In the League Two, Andy Junior Yiadom played the full 90 minutes for Barnet when they drew 2-2 with Yeovil Town.

Derek Asamoah was a second-half substitute for Carlisle United in their 1-0 loss at Oxford United. French-born Ghanaian Kevin Osei missed the game for Carlisle with injury.

FRANCE

Dennis Appiah played for ten-man Caen when they managed to Stade Rennes to a 1-1 draw at their own backyard on Friday.

Injured Grejohn Kyei watched his Stade Reims side share the spoils in a 1-1 draw with OG Nice.

Lille posted a 3-0 win over visiting Lorient at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Villeneuve d'Ascq. Manchester City loanee Yaw Yeboah could not make the Lille final squad for the game. Striker Majeed Waris missed the game with suspension.

SPAIN

Midfielder Bernard Mensah was axed from the Getafe team that was held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Real Sociedad in the La Liga.

Thomas Partey warmed the Atletico Madrid bench when they survived Athletic Bilbao with a 2-1 win. Spain-born Ghana-target Inaki Williams played 86 minutes for Bilbao.

Wakaso Mubarak was axed from the Las Palmas team that won late against Real Betis on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Razak Braimah impressed in the post for Cordoba as they defeated Llagostera 2-0 to go top of the Segunda Division table.

Michael Anaba lost his place in the Elche team for their 1-0 away win at Girona.

Defender Kasim Nuhu was axed from the Real Mallorca team for their 2-1 loss at Tenerife.

Spain-born Galder Dwomoh played for Portugalete in their 1-0 home loss against Real Sociedad B.

ITALY

Midfielder Godfred Donsah warmed the Bologna bench as they defeated Genoa with ten men on Saturday.

Injured Raman Chibsah was left out of the Frosinone team that lost 4-1 at Palermo. Swedish international of Ghanaian descent Robin Quaison was unused by Palermo.

The clash between Alfred Duncan's Sassuolo and Afriyie Acquah's Torino was postponed.

And, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu watched his Udinese side being battered 4-0 by Inter Milan at the Stadio Communale Fruili.

Kwadwo Asamoah was excluded from the Juventus squad when they played against Fiorentina on Sunday night.

There was full time action for Isaac Cofie when his Carpi side were roundly beaten 3-0 at Empoli.

Midfielder Ransford Selasi came off the Pescara bench in the 65th minute to play in their 2-0 win over Entella.

Salernitana claimed a 2-0 win over Ascoli. Both Moses Odjer and Bright Addae lost their places in the Salernitana and Ascoli teams respectively.

Former Inter Milan boy Isaac Ntow Tuah warmed the Como bench when they lost 4-0 against Ternana.

Neither Maxwell Acosty nor Nelson Atiagli was in the Latina team for their 2-1 loss at Spezia.

Bari posted a narrow 1-0 win over Perugia. AC Milan loanee Kingsley Boateng came off the bench in the 65th minute to play for Bari. While his Ghanaian compatriot Isaac Donkor who is on loan from Inter Milan was unused. Neither Masahudu Alhassan nor Amidu Salifu was not in the Perugia team for the game.

In the third-tier league, Dennis Kumih warmed the Rimini bench for their 2-1 loss at L Aquila.

Andria won 2-0 against Casertana. Former Sassuolo midfielder Abass Alhassan warmed the Andria bench but Daniel Kofi Agyei missed the game with injury.

Defender Bright Gyamfi was in super shape for Inter Milan Primavera when they defeated AC Milan 2-0 at their Apiano Gentile on Sunday.

Ghanaian youth striker Justice Opoku scored for Inter Milan's U17 side when won 4-1 against Lucchese.

BELGIUM

Versatile defender Nana Akwasi Asare was in top shape for KAA Gent when they won 2-0 at St. Truiden to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Despite his injury recovery midfielder Bennard Kumordzi was left out of the Genk side that drew 0-0 with Westerlo. But Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Mitch Apau played the entire regulation minutes for Westerlo.

Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Asamoah warmed the bench OH Leuven bench when they suffered a 2-1 loss at Charleroi.

Injured Frank Acheampong watched Anderlecht's 1-1 draw with KV Oostende from the bench.

Youngster Benjamin Tetteh was axed from the Standard Liege first team squad when they won 2-0 against Club Brugge.

KV Mechelen and Lokeren split points in a 1-1 draw in the Pro League. Former Liberty Professionals starlet Eugene Nana Ansah came off the Lokeren bench in the 77th minute to play. But Belgian-born Dennis Odoi played the full 90 minutes and was booked.

Former New Edubiase United midfielder Asiedu Attobrah still failed to make the Kortrijk team for their 3-1 home loss against Mouscron Peruwelz.

In the second-tier league William Owusu Acheampong played for FC Antwerp when they drew 0-0 with Dessel Sport.

Striker Kwame Nsor played but failed to get on target for FC Seraing when they won 3-0 at Coxyde.

None of the seven Ghanaian players at Lierse SK played when they drew 2-2 with Cercle Brugge.

FRANCE

Injured Jonathan Mensah watched his Evian TG side succumb to a 2-0 home loss against visiting Brest in the Ligue 2 on Friday.

In the third-tier league, midfielder Joachim Adukor was introduced in the last 9 minutes by Bezier who suffered a 2-1 loss at Châteauroux.

Former Ghana youth attacking midfielder Charles Boateng played the entire 90 minutes for Avranches when they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Belfort.

GERMANY

German-born Ghanaian youth international Gideon Jung played full throttle for Hamburg SV when they held Wolfsburg to a 1-1 draw.

Daniel Opare failed to make the Augsburg squad for their home game with Schalke 04 on Sunday. Augsburg won the tie 2-1.

Ghanaian duo of Philemon Ofosu-Aryeh and Joseph Baffo were both in action for Eintracht Braunschweig when they posted a 2-0 away victory over Sandhausen. Baffo started the game but Ofosu-Aryeh came off the bench to play.

In other games, midfielder Manfred Osei Kwadwo warmed the Kaiserslautern bench in their 2-0 win over Duisburg.

Still in Germany in the third-tier league, Ghanaian striker Prince Owusu failed to make the Stuttgart II squad for their 1-1 draw with Dynamo Dresden.

Elsewhere German-born midfielder Reagy Ofosu was yellow-carded and played the entire game for Chemnitzer in their 1-1 draw with Aalen. Ghanaian-born Canadian international Randy Edwini-Bonsu played for Aalen.

In other games Fortuna Koln posted a 3-1 win over Stuttgarter Kickers.German-born duo of Kwame Kusi and Erich Berko played for Koln and Kickers respectively.

Mainz 05 II won 2-0 against Holstein Kiel. Ghanaian midfielder Evans Nyarko played the entire game for Kiel.

NETHERLANDS

German-born Ghanaian defender Marcel Appiah was introduced in the 56th minute by NEC Nijmegen when lost 3-1 at FC Cambuur.

Roda JC surprised themselves with a 1-1 with PSV Eindhoven on Saturday. Ghanaian trio of Marvin Ofori-Appiah, Edwin Gyasi and Richmond Boakye-Yiadom all played in the game for Roda.

There was no Rodney Antwi in the FC Utrecht side that won 1-0 against visiting Ajax Amsterdam at the Stadion Galgenwaard. 14, 000 fans watched the game.

Dutch-born Johan Kappelhof was booked in the 67th minute and played the entire game for FC Groningen in their 1-1 draw with ten-man Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Derrick Luckassen was omitted from the AZ Alkmaar side that lost 2-1 at PEC Zwolle.

Shadrach Eghan returned to the FC Twente bench for their 2-1 win over De Graafschap. Manchester City loanee Thomas Agyepong missed the game with a hamstring problem.

Manchester City loanee Divine Naah made a return from injury to play the last 9 minutes for NAC Breda when they lost 1-0 against Go Ahead Eagles.

Den Bosch consigned Jong Ajax to a 3-0 home defeat. Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu was in the Ajax team for the game but Elton Acolatse was axed from the Jong Ajax squad.

Erixon Danso played the full 90 minutes for Emmen when they drew 2-2 with Fortuna Sittard. But there was no Raymond Gyasi in the Emmen team for the game.

Johnathan Opoku failed to find the back of the net for VVV Venlo when they won 3-0 against Achilles 29. But he played the full 90 minutes.

PORTUGAL

Defender Samuel Inkoom was sent off in the 34th minute for picking a double-booking in Boavista's 1-1 draw with Estoril. Youngster Emmanuel Hackmann came off the bench in the 37th minute to anchor the Boavista defence.

Alhassan Wakaso was not in the Rio Ave team for their 3-0 win over Arouca.

Ghana youth striker Osei Barnes warmed the Pacos Ferreira bench for their 6-0 win over Union Madeira.

Former Inter Milan boy Said Ahmed Said played the full 90 minutes for Olhanense when they lost 3-1 at Freamunde.

FC Porto loanee Lumor Agbenyenu played for Portimonense in their 2-1 home loss against Oliveirense.

Ishmael Yartey was not in the Gil Vicente team that won 1-0 against Desportivo Aves. But attacker Ernest Nyarko played the full game for Aves.

SERBIA

Ghanaian defender Lee Addy played the entire match for FK Cukaricki when they held Radnicki to a goalless drawn game. There was no Obeng Regan in the FK Cukaricki team for the game.

Samuel Owusu played for Surdulica in their 5-0 loss at Red Star Belgrade. Suraka Zakaria failed to make the Surdulica team for the game.

CYPRUS

Anothorsis Famagusta managed to beat AEL Limassol 1-0 in the Division One. Ghanaian midfielder Carlos Ohene played for AEL but John Arwuah was unused by AEL while former Manchester City defender Razak Nuhu warmed their bench.

Former Ghana and Charlton Athletic striker Christopher Dickson played for Paralimni in their 2-1 win over Ayia Napa.

GREECE

Midfielder Michael Essien played the entire minutes of the game to help Panathinaikos cruise to a 2-0 win over Asteras Tripolis.

Former Bechem United striker Eric Warden played for Olympiakos Volos when they drew 0-0 with Athens Asteras.

SCOTLAND

Abdul Osman captained Partick Thistle to a 1-0 away win over Dundee United.

Prince Buaben was a full timer for Heart of Midlothian in their 1-0 loss at Aberdeen.

TURKEY

Ghana defender Jerry Akaminko was not in the Eskisehirspor team that lost 2-1 against Gaziantespor.

Defender John Boye scored his 4th goal of the season for Sivasspor in their 1-0 away win at Genclerbirligi.

Defender Joseph Attamah was in action for Adana Demirspor when they lost 2-1 against Kayseri Erciyesspor.

SWITZERLAND

Ghana attacker Ebenezer Assifuah scored the second goal for FC Sion when they drew 2-2 with FC Basel in the Swiss Cup on Sunday. The former Liberty Professionals striker was replaced in the 77th minute.

THAILAND

Ghana striker Dominic Adiyiah scored a 60th minute goal for Nakhon Ratchasima when they drew 2-2 with Muang Thong Utd.

SOUTH AFRICA

Ghanaian defender Lawrence Lartey was not in the Free State Stars team that drew 1-1 with Pretoria University.

WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Ghana duo of Yaw Frimpong and Richard Kissi Boateng played for TP Mazembe when they lost 3-0 against Hiroshima. Trio Solomon Asante, Gladson Awako and Daniel Nii Adjei warmed the bench.

AUSTRIA

There was no David Atanga in the Red Bull Salzburg team that won 2-0 against Rapid Vienna.

FRIENDLY

Ghana midfielder Kwame Poku came off the bench to score the match winner for New York City FC in their 2-1 win over Puerto Rico national team on Friday.
