Perotti: The Roma support helped us beat Sampdoria

Roma attacker Diego Perotti says the crowd inside the Stadio Olimpico inspired the side to their third successive victory.

The Giallorossi withstood a late Sampdoria siege to record a 2-1 victory over Vincenzo Montella’s side and move to within two points of the Champions League places.

“We’ve got three wins on the spin and today our fans helped us,” he told Mediaset Premium after the win.

“We are happy because we are in a good position in the table.

“After the second goal we could have closed it out and we did not.

“We struggled as a team then but it is a very important success.”

Perotti arrived from Genoa last month and was especially satisfied to net against the Grifone’s bitter rivals.

“To score against Sampdoria is important because I left a piece of my heart in Genoa.”
