Portia Boakye beats Samira Suleman to SWAG Female Footballer of the year

Fabulous Ladies forward Portia Boakye beat competition from Black Queens team mate Samira Suleiman and Janet Egyiri to win the 2015 SWAG Female Footballer of the Year.

Portia, 24, emerged the winner of the coveted award following her magnificent display for the Black Queens at the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo Brazaville.

Samira Suleiman and Janet Egyir, both of Hasaacas Ladies could not convince voters with their performance in the season under review despite winning the National Women’s League.

While Samira scored the winning goal for the Queens in their semi-final clash with Ivory Coast, Portia scored the winner in the final game against Cameroon.

However, Portia was the only Ghanaian female footballer who emerged as one of the nominees for the 2015 Africa Female Footballer of the Year.
