Portia Boakye, Samira and Egyir compete for SWAG female footballer of the Year

Three Black Queens players will be competing for the SWAG Female Footballer of the Year award scheduled to come off later in the year.

Their names are Portia Boakye, Samira Suleiman and Janet Egyir.

It was confirmed by the organizers of the award on Monday in a press briefing at the Accra Sports Stadium.

All the three ladies played a key role as the Black Queens broke their trophy virginity to win Gold medal at last year’s All African Games held in Congo Brazzavile.

It was a tournament that brought the best out of the three ladies but it was Portia Boakye’s decisive strike the won the Gold medal for the Queens, after Samira's intelligent goal against Ivory Coast sent Ghana into the finals.

The trio among their peers were the best and they will be battling each other for the prestigious female footballer of the Year award.
