Sought after Quincy Owusu-Abeyie wants to remain with Crystal Palace

Ghana winger Quincy Owusu-Abeyie wants to stay with Crystal Palace in order to prove a point in the English Premiership according to his agent.

The 27-year-old looks likely to earn a permanent deal haven excelled in his ongoing trials at Selhurst Park.

Quincy was a former Premier League campaigner while with Arsenal.

Limited first team opportunities under manager Arsene Wenger however denied him the opportunity to prove he can be successful in the English top flight.

The Ghana international who has played in several countries including Russia, Spain, Qatar and Greece appears to be on his way back to the Premiership with newly promoted Crystal Palace.

His agent Leon Callander now says the player wants to stay in England despite receiving offers elsewhere primarily to prove ‘a point’.

"The more Quincy plays for Ian Holloway the more he is going to do,” Callander said.

"He's not even at his optimum. Judging from what I saw atPanathinaikos, in another two games he will start to set it alight.

"There is a lot of interest from Turkey and other clubs in Greece but he wants to be here. He feels he has got a point to prove."

Ghana will be very foolish to not recall Owusu abeyie back into the fold of the black stars. Yea, he may have had a bit of attitude, but truth is he has improved a lot and plays more competitively than some of the other guys on the team. Even if he is not gonna be on the first team have him on the bench. Gone are the days of ineptitude, we need to forge ahead. this guy has the necessary skills to do that.

Is Quincy not better than Solomon Asante whom AA calls every time? Quincy has pace, skills, experience, height and everything more than Asante yet he has been snubbed.Prosterity will judge AA and the GFA.

@Dr Who well said! Either you have a godfather at the GFA or belongs to an agency . otherwise yhe the chance of playing for the stars are slim.kwasi nyantakyi relationship with the TP Mazembe owner has led to imposing those average maze players on the team. Funny to see kissi boateng and solomon asante in the team ahead of better and experience players

Selection into any of the national sides should be purely on merit.
