Real Madrid move to trump Juventus for Chelsea wing-back Cuadrado

Published on: 26 November 2015

Real Madrid are threatening Juventus' plans for Chelsea wing-back Juan Cuadrado.

Cuadrado is on a straight season-long loan at Juve and the Bianconeri are eager to make the deal permanent.

However, Don Balon says Real are stepping in and keen to discuss terms with Chelsea for the Colombian.

Real president Florentino Perez has asked super agent Jorge Mendes to open negotiations for Cuadrado, who would arrive as part of a major squad overhaul.

The belief at Real is that Cuadrado's versatility will allow him to compete with Danilo at right-back, but also strengthen the left-side where Marcelo is currently the club's only senior option.
