Referee Awal Mohammed will handle Hearts-Kotoko Ghana Premier League derby

Retired referee Joseph Willington has disclosed that he is fasting and praying earnestly for center referee Awal Mohammed who has been appointed for the ‘Super Clash’ between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko on Monday.

To him, the match goes beyond the professional attributes of the referee and must be supported spiritually to handle the game beautifully.

“It’s not just a football match. It entails a lot and I think he needs prayers. So I have started praying and fasting for him to get a good day,” Joseph Willington told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I said that because he [Awal Mohammed] was accused by Inter Allies trainer Herbert Addo after their 1-0 loss to Medeama and that will put him under immense pressure.

So the only thing that will be beneficial to him now is prayers,” he added.
