It has been revealed that the Sports Ministry defied the Dzamefe 2014 World Cup Commission of Inquiry after flying U$ 200,000 to pay Black Stars players.

The act flouts one of the recommendations by Commission which looked into Ghana’s World Cup fiasco in Brazil.

This was after the country was ridicule for lifting $3 million to pay striking players at the tournament.

The Commission recommended the only modes of payments to players and officials on national team assignments should be through bank transfers to the accounts of all beneficiaries and Order cheques in the name of the beneficiaries.

According to a report by myjoyonline.com, a high-powered government delegation led by sector minister Dr Mustapha Ahmed carried the money to pay each player US$10,000 before their qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali.
