Schalke 04 manager Domenico Tedesco has indicated that Baba Rahman have a long way to go before making his second debut for the side.

Ghana left-back rejoined the Royal Blues on an 18-month loan deal from Chelsea during the January transfer window.

The 23-year-old first joined the Gelchenkirken-based club last season on a year-long loan deal, making 21 appearances in all competitions for the club before he suffered a serious knee injury during the 2017 Africa Nations Cup with Ghana.

He has been training for the past two months having recovered from his injury setback.

But the former Asante Kotoko defender is yet to make a competitive appearance since making a return from injury.

And Tedesco says the player needs time to before he can get into his first-team squad.

“Baba Rahman needs time but he’s working extremely hard," he said.

"We need to have him at 100% before he can be in the matchday squad,” he added.
