Ghanaian talent tavern Shadrach Eghan emerged victorious over fellow countryman Christian Atsu when they two players clash in the Dutch top-flight on Saturday.

Interestingly both players started the game at the Grolsche Veste Stadion wearing the 19 jersey as Twente kept up their Eredivisie challenge with a 2-0 victory over fellow title hopefuls Vitesse Arnhem.

Eghan, 19, whose form has wowed many in Holland this season played an influential role as Twente hopped to second place while Atsu's Vitesse trekked further down the log with their title hopes further slipping away.

Twente were clearly the more confident of the two sides, and created a number of chances to open the scoring in the first half. Dusan Tadic squandered the best opportunity created by as he could only blast at Piet Velthuizen after being played through on the right hand side of the box by Eghan.

Before being replaced in the 65th minute, the Akosombo-born had worried the visitors defence with his extraordinary abilities on the flanks.

In the 72nd minute, Atsu was replaced by Moroccan international Zakaria Labyad.

I hear Eghan's name a lot but never seen him play before. If he is truly better than Acheampong, then he deserves a call up and a chance.

He may be a kid. But he is all that. Natural football sense.the best substitute for Asamoah Gyan role.Gyan away from top flight so long needs a youth who can step in for him in last 20 mins of games. I will go for Shadrach for that position. Fearless and agressive kid, passes my mark over Acheampong, boakye, assifuah, Jordan...all said the future of Ghana football is bright with all these talented young boys
