The Australian national team are set to play host to Brazil later this year.

It has been confirmed that the Socceroos will take on five-time FIFA World Cup winners the Samba Kings at the MCG on June 13 as part of the Chevrolet Brasil Global Tour of 2017.

The likes of Neymar, Philippe Coutinho, Marcelo and Thiago Silva will tackle the Aussie stars in Melbourne just four days after Brazil meet South American rivalsArgentina at the iconic venue.

Victorian Minister for Tourism and Major Events and Minister for Sport, John Eren MP, said: "It's the clash every Australian football fan wanted, and we've got it.

"This game will pit our boys against the world's best, and give our fans the chance to cheer on their beloved Socceroos as they prepare for their quest for Confederation Cup glory."

Australia and Brazil have met on nine occasions in the past with Brazil winning six times, and the Socceroos saluting once.
