Ghana goalkeeper Stephen Adams says he is not surprised by his call-up into the Black Stars ahead of next month’s pre-World Cup friendly against Montenegro.

The Aduana Stars shot-stopper has replaced Fatau Dauda in the Ghana set-up for the friendly exercise on March 5 in Podgorica following his stellar performances at the CHAN tournament in South Africa.

Adams has revealed he is not surprised with his call-up and will grab the opportunity.

“To be honest with you I wasn’t surprised at all, he told Accra-based Happy FM

“After the CHAN tournament, I have always held the view that I will get my chance and I thank God that the opportunity has presented itself.

“It’s now up to me to grab this chance and impress the coach.”

Adams is now in pole position to grab perhaps the final slot in the goalkeeping department with Fatau Dauda and Adam Kwarasey sure candidates to make the final cut.
