Mallam Muniru Sulley, the father of Black Stars of Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari says the current crisis rocking the Nigeria Football Federation is a problem affecting most of the African nations.

Mallam Sulley a traditional chief in Dofa, Ghana, had stints in Nigeria with Kaduna Textile, El-Kanemi Warriors and Kano Pillars during his coaching career in the 80s and early 90's.

Speaking to Daily Trust from his Ghana base via telephone, he said the way the African countries' football associations are structured make them susceptible to issues like the one that earned Nigeria FIFA's wrath.

"This problem is an African problem and the earlier we resolve it the better for us, the whole set-up has to be examined, the government is getting too much involved and the administrators who actually come from nowhere suddenly acquire a get rich quick syndrome and start tampering with funds meant for the development of the game, and that is corruption," the former coach said.

FIFA, last week, suspended Nigeria from international football activities after the Aminu Maigari-led board was booted out of office by the NFF Extra Ordinary Congress which acted on a court order given by a High Court in Jos.
