Sunderland attacker Wahbi Khazri: My qualities not like Cabella

Published on: 13 February 2016

Sunderland attacker Wahbi Khazri says he has the qualities to handle the Premier League.

Khazri, who has played his whole career in France with Bastia and then Bordeaux before the move to the North East, thinks he has adapted to the new demands.

“Even though the two games (against Man City and Liverpool) came up in quick succession, I like to think I have adapted to the Premier League already,” he said.

“It’s so much faster and more intense. I have found that out straight away.

“There is more emphasis on possession in France. It is much stronger here. The tackling is stronger.

“I like to think that I have the right qualities to flourish in the Premier League.

“Remy Cabella (the French midfielder who recently left Newcastle) for instance is very technical and may suit the Spanish league.

“I have only played two games but I think my game suits here.”
