Ghanaian promising kid Timothy Fosu-Mensah admits Ajax Amsterdam's dithering convinced him to move to Manchester United.
The Dutch teen has broken into the United first team this week.
Fosu-Mensah had spent his entire junior career with Ajax and was even a ball boy. But when it came to turning pro, Ajax dragged their feet offering him terms.
"I was already 16 and a half, but there was nothing. They also said nothing to me," he told Volkskrant.
"Then these other clubs came in. And Ajax finally went to talk to me. I thought 'I've heard no word from you, yet suddenly you're here?'."
On choosing United, Fosu-Mensah explained: "The club is known to give youth a chance. (Louis) Van Gaal does that also."
