UEFA Certificate in Football Management

Published on: 21 July 2016

The UEFA Certificate in Football Management (UEFA CFM) combines e-learning modules with face-to-face seminars addressing key areas of national football association management.

With six national editions per year, the course is open for the 55 member associations of UEFA and contributes to greater knowledge within the national associations, benefiting the European football family as a whole.

With a total of 35 participants at each national edition, 25 of these positions are open for selection by the host, within the staff and stakeholders of its national association. The remaining ten positions are to be filled by participants from non-hosting member associations, based on an application process followed by a careful selection made by the scientific committee of the programme.

Run by leading academic and professional experts, chosen by the hosting country or UEFA itself, each module focuses on an important aspect of the management of football associations. The course builds on six online modules and three face-to-face seminars, where the online modules cover the topics of:

The organisation of football

• Strategic and performance management

• Operational management

• Football marketing and sponsorship

• Communication, the media and public relations

• Event and volunteer management

The course is issued, in European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) credits, through the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration (IDHEAP) at the University of Lausanne.
