Video: Muslim Black Stars worship at Ngouoni mosque

Published on: 03 February 2012

Five Muslim Ghana players offered their Friday 'Juma' congregational prayer at the Ngouoni mosque close to their camp.

The quintet; Sulley Muntari, Masawudu Alhassan, Mohammed Abu, Andre and his younger brother Jordan Ayew.

They made personal appeals to the Imam of the Abouzar Al-Khifari mosque for special prayers ahead of their quarter final clash against Tunisia.

The Black Stars who aim to end a 30-year wait for an African title qualified as winners of Group D into the last eight of the competition.

Defeat to the Carthage Eagles on Sunday means this ambition of a fifth African crown will be delayed for at least a year.

Meanwhile a preparation towards the quarter final game at the Franceville Stadium continues with a closed training session on Friday evening.

The media is thus not allowed within the training facility for the session but will have the chance to do so on Saturday (the last training day) where filming will be allowed for only the first fifteen minutes.

A pre-match press conference will however precede one hour before the training session.
