Hearts of Oak centre back Inusah Musa says they were determined not to succumb to rivals Asante Kotoko for the third time this year.
The Phobians rallied to draw 1-1 with the Porcupine Warriors at the 1-1 on Sunday.
Hearts lost the corresponding fixture of the derby in Accra and were beaten on penalties in President Cup.
"It isn't easy when playing in Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak clashes. We lost the first one at home and second in the President's cup we lost again," he told the media.
"We said to ourselves we won't allow Asante Kotoko to beat us thrice when coming to Kumasi."
