Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has revealed his father's obsession over Ghana legend Abedi Pele's talents.

The England international has revealed that because of his father's rants over the legendary player, he has been forced to watch videos of the Maestro on the internet.

Welbeck, who was born in England to Ghanaian parents, says the first superstar in the eyes of his father was the three-time African Footballer of the Year.

Victor Welbeck loved football and encouraged his son, enthusing about the great Ghanaian players.

''My dad always tells me about Abedi Pele," said the Manchester United player who spurned the chance to play for the Black Stars.

"I have seen a few YouTube videos and stuff. My dad is buzzing off him and I’m like, ‘Pele? I only know one Pele.’ Turns out there are actually two.''
