Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes his side passed a significant mental hurdle during their come from behind 2-1 victory over Leicester at the Emirates yesterday.

Jamie Vardy had put Leicester 1-0 up at half time, before Danny Simpson saw red at the beginning of the second half and the Arsenal comeback gathered momentum. Walcott levelled matters in the 70th minute, which set the stage for Danny Welbeck to score a 95th minute winner for the Gunners in his first game since April 2015.

After the match, Wenger commented, 'It was a serious mental test because we found ourselves 1-0 down against a team that defends so well. We came back with relentless energy and took all the risks because we knew a draw wasn't good enough. It was down to our mental desire. It was a big mental hurdle for us because we were in shock at being behind at half-time. We didn't see that coming. It is not a coincidence Leicester are top.'
