West Brom are preparing to table a fresh offer that would double the wages of defender Jeffrey Schlupp to force his move from Leicester City.

The Ghanaian defender currently earns about £40,000 per week with the Foxes and West Brom are prepared to hand him £80,000 per week contract.

The move is meant to force the utility player to convince the English Champions to allow him to leave for the Hawthorns.

This comes after Leicester rejected a £9m move for the left back-cum-striker and West Brom are returning with a second offer on both fronts.

Schlupp, 23, was thought to be available at the right price this summer as Leicester did not use him as a regular after a serious injury he suffered.

However it has emerged that Claudio Ranieri rather wants to bolster his squad ahead of this season's title defence and participation in several top competitions including the UEFA Champions League.
