Portland Timbers goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey has ended a two-year self-imposed exiled from the Black Stars after being named in Ghana’s squad against Mozambique.

The Norway-born shot stopper announced his premature retirement after the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil where he launched a broadside at goalkeepers’ trainer Nassam Yakubu.

He accused Yakubu of favouritsm and nepotism after he was dropped after Ghana’s opener against USA and Fatau Dauda installed as No.1.

The 27-year-old later claimed captain Asamoah Gyan and defender John Boye influenced then head coach Kwesi Appiah in replacing him before the game against Germany.

Kwarasey moved to the MLS where he has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Major League Soccer and also helped his side win the title last year.

But after months of negotiations and discussions with head coach Avram Grant, Kwarasey finally decided to return to the national team.

He will now have to fight it out with established number one Razak Braimah who was the team’s first choice goalkeeper for 2015.
