Will summer Premier League target Raphael Dwamena be latest Ghana star on Celtic's radar?

Celtic have been linked with three Ghanaian goal machines in recent months but not Raphael Dwamena.

Brendan Rodgers stated when Celtic brought in Ivorian international midfielder Kouassi Eboue that he felt the African market was something of an untapped hotbed for under-the-radar talent, per the Daily Record.

And it may be no coincidence that, since then, Celtic have been linked with not one, not two but three Ghanaian international strikers.

The Mail tipped them to make a move for Lorient’s Majeed Waris prior to the summer transfer window while then stating a few months later that Red Star Belgrade’s prolific Richmond Boakye was also in their sights.

And earlier this month, Ghana Sports Online stated that Patrick Twumasi, the Astana striker who netted twice against Celtic in the Champions League qualifiers in August, had forced his way onto Celtic’s January wishlist.

It seems highly unlikely, then, that fellow Ghana goal machine Raphael Dwamena will not be on their radar. The 22-year-old has been in prolific form since moving to the Swiss Super League with FC Zurich in 2016, netting 12 times in 19 games last season.

And while Dwamena’s form has dropped somewhat in 2017/18, it seems likely that the three-time international is being followed by a number of clubs across the continent. Sky Sports reported in August that he came close to signing for Premier League newcomers Brighton for £8 million, only to fail his medical.

But with Celtic already taking a look at his international strike partners, is Dwamena set to be the next Ghanaian star linked with a move to the Scottish champions?
