Jack Wilshere has confirmed he will leave Arsenal this summer by posting a video to Instagram saying "thanks for the memories."
Wilshere's contract had been set to expire in two weeks, and the 26-year-old has agreed to move on.
The move comes amid multiple reports that say new Arsenal coach Unai Emery is set to sign Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira, who is at the World Cup with Uruguay.
"I felt that I was ultimately left with little choice but to make the decision that I have due to purely footballing reasons," Wilshere wrote on social media.

Wilshere joined Arsenal's youth set-up as a nine-year-old and made his first-team debut in 2008 to become Arsenal's youngest-ever league player at 16.
Among clubs linked to a potential move to sign Wilshere on a free transfer are West Ham, Wolves, Southampton and AC Milan.
