Le Havre AC forward Jean-Philippe Mateta has expressed his readiness to fill in the void left by injured Ghana striker Ebenezer Assifuah.

Prior to Le Havre preparations for their last Saturday's Ligue 2 clash against Clemont, Ebenezer Assifuah suffered injury in training and was ruled him out of the game.

But Mateta, who joined Oswald Tanchot's side on loan from Olympique Lyonnais, says he's ready to step in the absence of the Ghanaian.

"I'm an attacker, I need to score goals, I obviously have a good time when I score goals. I work to keep it going. It took me time to adapt with my new teammates, I would have liked the goals to come before, but it took time."

"I came here to play the matches and the goals. I know that Florian Maurice follows me closely, he sends me messages after each game."

Le Havre went to lose the match 3-0 at the Stade Gabriel Montpied.
