King Faisal

King Faisal are like a new-look side with both technical team and playing body augmented for the second half of the season and more is expected when they host WAFA in Techiman on Sunday, 4 April 2021.

The Kumasi-based side have hired Turkish trainer Kasim Gökyildiz who has been tasked to rescue their campaign.

He took charge of two test matches to prepare the side for the second round. After suffering defeat to lower division side Benab FC, he supervised the 1-0 win over second division side Koforidua Suhyen Sporting Club.

The goal was scored by one of their ten new signings striker Isaac Frimpong.

Faisal's new recruits include striker Awudu Mohammed, right-back Gabo Mohammed and midfielder Franklin Osei.

Other are the likes of Richard Akrofi, Latif Salifu, Samudeen Ibrahim, Seidu Salifu and Eric Donkor who have rich Ghana Premier League experience.

The biggest transfer news was the loan deal for CAF U20 Best Goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim from Asante Kotoko.

WAFA had their own issues in the first half of the season after injuries and transfers robbed them off some stability.

But the Academy made four signings during the break with striker Justus Torsutsey coming from Division One League side Sekondi Hasaacas.

The rest are goalkeeper Osei Kwadwo Bonsu, Abdul Basit Issah and Alhassan Seidu Abu.

Three players Emmanuel Ofori Agyemang , Derrick Mensah Antwi and Henry Oware have been promoted from the academy's U17 side.

From the treatment room, John Tedeku has returned to light training but not ready for action.

With just one away win so far, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum knows  his side must improve their wretched form on the road.
