The Tamale club have acquired the tag of 'bad away performers' over the years because of their dismal display on the road.

RTU secured their first away win of the season on Sunday after a strike by Shilla Alhassan in the 88th minute condemned Great Olympics to the bottom of the league table.

Razak, a former African Player of Year, is confident he can rid the Tamale-based club of the tag of 'bad away performers'.

"We are working on it because and it has to do with the psychology of the players," the former Asante Kotoko ace told Ghanasoccernet.com.

"This issue of RTU being bad away performers has been drummed into their ears and it was beginning to take hold.

"I have spoken to the players about it and they know that they are like any other Premier League side and can win away matches as other clubs.

"I am sure that with other tactics and training sessions we will overcome this problem."

RTU have improved their style of play since Razak took over despite an initial protest by the fans of the club over the manner of the sacking of previous coach Pape Thiam.

Good results so far this season means Razak has won over the supporters with some calling for him to be given a longer contract.

RTU are currently fourth on the league table.

Razak spent some years coaching top clubs in Mali where he won the league title three times.
