Ghanaian defender Abraham Frimpong is on cloud nine after booking a UEFA Champions League group stage spot with Ferencvarosi TC.

The Hungarian champions beat Norwegian side Molde FK in the playoffs to advance with 3-3 aggregate score on Tuesday.

Frimpong put in a decent shift in the two legs to ensure Ferencvarosi make it to the group stage for the first time in 25 years.

Ferencvarosi's last group stage appearance was in the 1995/1996 season.

"I am very happy with our output, we have played in the Europa League for a couple of years and we have now made it to the Champions League," Frimpong told Graphic Sports Online.

"Our journey was not easy, we defeated Djurgarden, Celtic, Dinamo Zagreb and saw off Molde after drawing 3-3 away and goalless at home.

"Now the attention will be to go all out in the Champions League, we have a great squad and we believe in ourselves. We know we can do it."
