Bristol City striker Antoine Semenyo has finally marked his international debut for Ghana.

The London-born attacker replaced AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan with Ghana cruising to a 3-0 win over Madagascar in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Semenyo's international debut was delayed after he picked up an injury prior to the decisive 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria back in March this year.

But the hugely talented striker gets the chance to impress after getting the chance to represent Ghana at the international level.

He replaced 19-year-old Felix Afena-Gyan, who scored his debut goal for the Black Stars against the Barea in the coastal town of Cape Coast.

Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus broke the deadlock early in the second half after a resolute defensive display from the visitors ensured the ended the first half goalless.

Kudus, 21, scored from an unfavourite right foot after he slotted home from three yards after a remarkable run-in down the flank by Dennis Odoi.

The former Nordsjælland star has the simplest task of smashing home from close range to give the Ghanaians a well deserved lead.

Cometh the hour, cometh the moment for youngster Felix Afena-Gyan, who connected with a tap-in t0 hand the four-time African champions a two-goal lead.

Nantes forward Osman Bukari rounded off goalkeeper Nina Razakanirina to seal victory for the Black Stars.

The Black Stars, who are pooled in Group F of the qualifiers, are likely to assume top position after Angola came from behind to defeat the Central African Republic 2-1 in Wednesday's earlier game.

The team is in cruise control to bag their first win for the Black Stars in six matches since their 1-0 win over South Africa in a controversial World Cup qualifier back in November, 2021.
