Al Jazira coach hails Asamoah Gyan as best in UAE League

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is the best player in the UAE Pro League, says Al Jazira coach Franky Vercauteren as he readies to face him in the league on Thursday night.

A brace in his side's 4-2 win over Emirates in the President's Cup at the weekend took his tally for the campaign to 10 goals in 11 games, seven of which have come in the Pro League.

Al Ain arrive at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium tomorrow night a point clear of defending champions Jazira.

Vercauteren knows his side must find ''a solution'' to Gyan if they are to pick up maximum points.

"Yes, at this moment Gyan is the most efficient in the league. Efficient is of course the most important," said Vercauteren.

"He is very, very dangerous, especially with his finishing. He is using his qualities with a very high level to make a difference for his team.

"That's all you look at as a coach. How efficient is my player and what does he bring to the team. And I think what Gyan brings is very important to Al Ain."
