Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey has seemingly put to bed reports linking him away from the club after the Ghana international claimed he wants to win trophies with the Wanda Metropolitano outfit.

Partey has been heavily linked with a move to English giants Arsenal in the ongoing transfer market.

Atlético Madrid have rejected two offers from the Gunners after their offers fell below their £45.5 million release clause.

Rojiblancos manager, Diego Simeone, is desperate to keep the 27-year-old , who joined the club in 2013 and has two years to run on his current deal.

"I remember the first game I played, everybody was shouting and I wasn’t used to it. From there, I said to myself, I have to continue playing well to attract more attention because I kept on hearing names like Fernando Torres, Gabi and Koke.” The fans were always singing their names. I said one day I hope they will be able to sing my name.”

“I don’t see myself as a key player yet because I have a lot of important players ahead of me.”

“My dream is to be able to reach a higher level than them, to be able to archive something they have never achieved with this team. It is not easy but I am sure with hard work, everything will be Ok.

Injury ruled him out as the Madrid-based side were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League after losing 2-1 to German minnows RB Leipzig on Thursday night.
