Struggling Aston Villa captain Micah Richards has hailed the influence of Ghana striker Jordan Ayew.
Ayew, 23, has been phenomenal for Villa despite their wobbles this season.
The club is languishing in the bottom after a poor run of form this season.
However, the Villa captain Micah Richards has singled out the 24-year-old for praise.
“Even when Jordan Ayew is not scoring, he is putting in a shift for the team. I think that is all the fans ask for,” he told the club’s official website.
“He has scored some good goals and he is working hard for the team. I think the supporters have started to appreciate that."
The Ghana international is expected to lead his side's attack against Newcastle United.
