Bacca says he won’t be leaving AC Milan

AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca has dismissed recent rumours of a possible move away after Manchester United and Chelsea were said to be keen on the 29-year-old.

Speculation came after the forward’s agent Sergio Barilla had shown uncertainty while commenting on the Colombia international’s future, saying Chinese and European clubs tried to sign Bacca during January. However, the player has now spoken out to express his intention to stay.

“I’m happy here at Milan, and my family is too,” Bacca told Mediaset Premium.

“The great affection of the fans proves I’m doing well. They make me want to continue working, being highly motivated and doing things the right way.

“I still have a five-year contract, there’s no problem and no fear.”

The former Sevilla player is the current seasonal top scorer for the Rossoneri having netted 13 in this campaign, and the Milanese side are likely to highly rely on him to extend their good form period during their clash with Napoli on Monday.

“Playing Napoli won’t be easy as they’re a great team,” added the striker.

“But we want to keep up our good results, so we’ll try to win, it could be a present to our president [Silvio] Berlusconi to celebrate his 30 years at Milan.”

AC Milan are unbeaten since January 6, when they lost 1-0 to Bologna, and have since won four out of seven games they played, including a stunning 3-0 victory in the Derby della Madonnina against Inter.
