Bayern Munich target Napoli striker

Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain has emerged as a possible transfer target for Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

The 28-year-old Argentine forward has been in scintillating form for the Azzurri this season, scoring 16 goals in Serie A including a brace during Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Atalanta at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia.

According to German broadcaster Sport1, newly appointed Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti has already expressed his interest in the former Real Madrid player as he looks to make his own mark on the talented squad he will inherit from Pep Guardiola in the summer.

Ancelotti will face the task of convincing the Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis to part ways with his leading marksman, who signed for the club for €40 million in July 2013 after falling behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order at Madrid.
