Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac congratulated Andre Ayew for his 100th appearance for the senior national team on Sunday.

Ayew marked his incredible milestone with a precious goal as Ghana beat South Africa at the Cape Coast Sunday.

The 1-0 victory secured Ghana's place in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers play-offs scheduled for next year March.

In the tense game, Ghana were awarded a contentious penalty but Ayew wasn't distracted by South Africans protest - which they have carried off the field – as he scored calmly.

At the post-match press conference, Rajevac said about his captain, “I want to congratulate the captain for the 100th game and he has scored a goal today at his jubilee and Ghana won an important match so we showed that this fortress is not easy to conquer,” he said.

Ayew has scored 22 goals in the 100 games since making his debut in 2007 against Senegal.

He is the second most-capped player, nine games behind Asamoah Gyan who has played 109 times.
