Ghana midfielder Kwame Poku will meet a new coach when he returns to his club, Colchester United after featuring for the Black Stars during the international break.

The Fourth-tier side appointed a new coach, Hayden Mullins on Wednesday after sacking Wayne Brown.

Mullins’ major task is to ensure the club does not suffer relegation at the end of the season. They are currently four points above the relegation zone with eight games to go.

Poku will be hoping to play an important role under Mullins.

The teenager was the club’s best young player last year and was also nominated for the player of the season.

He has played 31 games for Colchester this season as they lie 21st on the league log with 39 points from 38 games.

Poku made his debut for the Black Stars last Sunday in the 3-1 win against Sao Tome and Principe in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
