French Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux are said to have begun talks with English Championship side Aston Villa for the services of striker Jordan Ayew.

New coach Jocelyn Gourvennec wants to sign the Ghana international as a back up plan should Diego Rolan leave.

Ayew’s future at Villa Park has been speculated since the club got relegated from the English Premier League.

He scored seven goals in 30 matches last season and should be a massive inclusion for Les Girondins.

Ayew was groomed in France at Olympique Marseille where he broke into the First Team before loan spells at Sochaux and Lorient.
