CAF Confederation Cup: Farouk Mohammed converts late penalty to move Enyimba joint top in Group C

Ghanaian midfielder Farouk Mohammed scored a late penalty to give Enyimba a 1-0 win over hosts Djoliba on Sunday to enhance their qualification from Group C of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Striker Sunday Adetunji was brought down heavily inside the box on his way to goal and Mohammed made no mistake putting it.

The win ensured the seven-time Nigeria champions moved to second place with nine points from five matches.

The The People’s Elephant’ are tied on points with leaders CARA Brazzaville, who defeated Williamsville AC of Cote d'Ivoire 3-1.

Enyimba will host Congolese side CARA in a final group game on August 30 in Aba.
