Chelsea midfielder Jimi Tauriainen: AC Milan UYL clash a must-win

Published on: 05 October 2022

Chelsea midfielder Jimi Tauriainen recognises the pressure is on for their UEFA Youth League clash with AC Milan today.

Tauriainen started the opening two games of the UYL this season, where they were beaten by Dinamo Zagreb and drew with RB Salzburg.

He told Chelsea's website: "I really enjoy this competition because it gives you a chance to play against the very best in Europe, so I am always excited to do this. It does mean that there is more pressure to perform but I think it is good for my development."

He added: "I started as a striker when I came to Chelsea but in since my injury, I have come back as a midfielder and Ed believed in my abilities to play well there.

"As a group we have good chemistry and the coaching team believe in us a lot, we are still developing as players but we have good quality.

"We believe we can beat anyone and it is down to us to show that in today's game."
