Claudio Ranieri sacked by Watford

Published on: 24 January 2022

Watford have sacked manager Claudio Ranieri after just three and a half months in charge.

The former Premier League winner replaced Xisco Munoz in October with the Hornets 14th in the table, but they have only managed seven points under the Italian. They now sit 19th, two points from safety.

90min exclusively revealed on Saturday that Watford were ready to ditch Ranieri, with Friday night's 3-0 loss to Norwich eventually convincing owner Gino Pozzo to make a change.

A club statement is imminent.
