De Ligt completes Juve switch

Juventus have further bolstered their impressive squad by completing the signing of Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt.

The biggest teams in Europe were scrambling for the services of the Dutch international, who has emerged as one of the top young players on the continent.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain were just some of the clubs linked with De Ligt's services, but it was Italian champions Juve who snapped up the 19-year-old.

Reports have suggested the Old Lady have splashed £67.5m to land the teenager, who has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Turin outfit.

De Ligt leaves Ajax having already done so much for the Amsterdam club at such a young age.

The centre-back made his debut back in 2016 and was given the honour of becoming the club's youngest ever captain in March last year.

De Ligt scored eight goals in 77 league appearances for Ajax, winning the Dutch domestic league and cup double last season, while also helping the club reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Juventus are 10/1 to win the Champions League next season, while Manchester City are the current 4/1 favourites to lift the trophy.
