Ghana striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom had a debut to forget for Gornik Zabrze following their 4-2 defeat against Rakow in the quarterfinals of the Polish Cup on Wednesday.

Boakye-Yiadom joined the Tri-colour on a short-term deal as a free agent on Monday.

The experienced forward was able to convince coach Marcin Brosz in training after he was named in the matchday squad.

He warmed the bench until the 90th minute when he was brought on as they were chasing the game.

Gornik went 2-0 down but Spanish international Jesus Jimenez scored twice to pull them level.

The hosts however plundered two late goals to snatch victory from the game and secure progress to the semi-finals at the expense of Boakye and his teammates.
