New Edubiase United coach Anthony Commey has lost his wife, GHANAsoccernet.com has learnt.
Stella Ama Commey's death occurred at the Tema General Hospital on Sunday morning after a short illness.
Commey was excused from camp hours before their opener against Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium.
"This is a bitter pill for Anthony. He spoke to her the night before only to be told she was no more the next day," Edubiase Deputy Chief Executive Alex Ackumey told GHANAsoccernet.com
"Hopeful we will return to the bench this weekend against Heart of Lions."
Assistant coach Michael Osei took temporary charge in their 3-2 win at the Baba Yara Stadium.
