Roma’s imminent signing Stephan El Shaarawy wants to hit the ground running at the club by way of good performances.
The Italy international is in Rome for a medical with the Giallorossi following the club’s agreement with AC Milan over a loan transfer, and after enduring a difficult time at Monaco in the first half of the season El Shaarawy can’t wait for his new challenge.
“Roma presents a great opportunity for me,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“I’m happy to be here and I want to immediately make an impact and help out at the club.”
El Shaarawy replaces Roma winger Gervinho, who is on the verge of a lucrative switch to China.
Il Faraone’s time at Monaco was cut short after the club froze him out of the team to avoid triggering a purchase clause in their agreement with Milan. In his time in France he scored three goals in all competitions.
