Former Dutch international Ronald De Boer has waxed lyrical over how young NAC Breda defender Jan Paul van Hecke dealt with Myron Boadu during their 3-1 win against AZ Alkmaar in the KNVB Cup on Wednesday.

NAC Breda eliminated high-flying AZ from the Dutch Cup after handing them a 3-1 defeat at away on Wednesday.

Myron Boadu was on unable to rescue AZ Alkmaar from the jaws of defeat as he was silenced in the game by young guardsman Paul van Hecke.

Dutch legend De Boer — who was working as a pundit on the game — was in awe over how Paul van Hecke handled himself against Boadu.

"The fit looks good, daring. Defensively all well done. He stood his ground. Boadu has not had a chance, he has thrown his soul and bliss into it. Good body, length good ... I don't think that this is his terminal, from what I see.”
