James Abban has cooled talks of emerging the Premier League top goalscorer despite hitting an impressive brace against Hearts of Oak on Sunday.
The Liberty Professionals striker filtered through the Premiershipââ¬â¢s meanest defence to score two second half goals and says the weekendââ¬â¢s double was inspired by an earlier bet with Hearts of Oakââ¬â¢s assistant coach Tanko Mohammed.
ââ¬ÅI am very excited, I have never scored against Hearts of Oak in the Premiership so I am very excited,â⬠he told GHANAsoccernet.com.
ââ¬ÅCoach Tanko is my coach at the university so I told him whenever he meets my team I was going to score to help my team beat them and thankfully it has happened.
ââ¬ÅI think it is too early to talk about being a goal king, it is a very difficult thing to do but I will keep working hard and who knows maybe I can win the award at the end of the season.ââ¬
Sundayââ¬â¢s win lifts Liberty to seventh five points behind leaders Asante Kotoko.
