EXCLUSIVE: Italian coach Roberto Landi arrives in Ghana to seal AshantiGold job

Italian coach Roberto Landi has arrived in Ghana to take charge of Premier League side AshantiGold SC, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively report.

The 63-year-old touched down at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra on Saturday night.

He is expected to be at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon to watch the Miners play Asante Kotoko in a regional derby.

Landi will replace Turkish Kasim Gokyildiz who had his contract terminated last week after doubts about his coaching certificate.

The former Liberia national team coach also handled a few clubs in Africa- Al Tersana Tripoli (Libya), El Gouna (Egypt) and Lusaka FC in Zambia.

He also played for South Africa for Kaizer Chiefs before ending his career in the USA with New York Cosmos and Chicago Sting.

The UEFA A Pro License holder was Goalkeepers' coach for the US Men's National Team for at the 1990 (Italy) and 1994 (USA) FIFA World Cup finals.
